1. Scope
This standard specifies test devices, test conditions, sample requirement, test procedures, fire endurance determination and test report of building construction elements fire-resistance tests.
This standard is applicable to bearing and nonbearing members, such as wall, girder, column, floor slab, suspended ceiling and roof. Other members, components or structures may also make reference of this standard.
2. Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. At time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated below.

3. Definitions
For the purposes of this national standard, the following definitions apply.
3.1 Fire endurance
Period from building members, components or structures start to receive fire action until loss stability, integrity or heat insulation property, under standard fire resistance test conditions.
3.2 Fire resistance stability
Ability of bearing building member to resist collapse within a certain period, under standard fire resistance test conditions.
3.3 Fire resistance integrity
Ability of building separating members to prevent flame or hot air from penetrating the fire and appearing on the other side within a certain period when one side is on fire, under standard fire resistance test conditions.
3.4 Fire resistance and heat insulation
Ability of building separating members to prevent the temperature on the other side from being higher than specified value within a certain period when one side is on fire, under standard fire resistance test conditions.
