1 Scope of application
1.1 This standard is applicable to produce copper or aluminium and its alloy rectangular wires as well as copper strips for electrical motor and windings of electrical equipment, and installing distribution equipment and others for electrical purposes. Standards for these products are follow-up parts of this standard.
1.2 This standard must be used together with follow-up parts such as Part 2, 3 and 4 of GB 5584 - 85.
1.3 Production process shall be able to guarantee products can meet standard provisions.
2 Definition
2.1 Except definitions specified by this standard, all other terms shall adopt definitions specified in GB 2900.10 - 84 Electrotechnical terminology Electric wires and cables
2.2 Specification
Dimension of conductor is expressed with axb, the nominal dimension of conductor's narrow side and broadside.
2.3 Preferred specification
Specification with priority to use.
2.4 Middle specification
Specification which is allowable to use but shall be used as less as possible.
2.5 Non-recommended specification
Specification that isn't recommend to use.
2.6 Straightness
It means maximum height of arch when arcking or un-straight part of any narrow side lay in level position.
